We took the underground to meet Gerhard, our local tour guide. Fortunately it was early on the weekend, so it was not crowded. As we moved toward the 3rd Man Museum, Gerhard provided an overview of historic Vienna and endless places we could visit during our free time in the afternoon. The enormous spire of St. Stephen’s provide a fantastic reference landmark as we moved about the city. Vienna’s famous opera house was closed, however we visited two world class museums: the Art History Museum, Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna. and we also spent several hours at the Albertina Museum, both are outstanding.
